It’s a goal that, with our collective efforts across Miami-Dade we CAN make a reality. Zero children drowning in Miami-Dade. More than a promise, it is a challenge that we as a community can achieve together.
This initiative includes operating and funding a long-term, large-scale safety net for children by coordinating and providing free essential swim safety lessons as a multi-day field trip with transportation during the program day, and engaging and educating families on what they can do to make their children safer in and around water. In addition to an online American Red Cross water safety course offered in English, Spanish and Haitian Creole, this initiative includes a community-wide water safety campaign on the importance of drowning prevention.
